As a new Toastmaster member you receive:
- A new member kit that includes the Communication & Leadership Manual, general orientation materials, and information regarding skill improvement in areas such as speech evaluation and gesture usage.
- Toastmasters monthly magazine, The Toastmaster, which provides helpful information on improving your speeches, leadership skills and clubs.
The improved speaking and leadership skills developed in Toastmasters, provides members with the confidence to become more active in businesses, churches, and service and charity organizations. Toastmaster members’ posses the skills to organize activities, conduct meetings, and speak in public as their organization's representative.
If you’re thinking of becoming a member of the Gettysburg Addressers, we encourage you to be a guest at one of our meetings. That will give you an opportunity to experience how we run our meetings, discover what’s involved, and speak individually with members and learn how Toastmasters has helped them.
As a guest, you may be as active as you wish in our meeting. Some guests prefer to observe while others prefer to test their speaking skills with a 1-2 minute impromptu speech during our meeting’s Table Topics session.
Reservations are not required; just show up at the Gettysburg Libraryfor one of our scheduled meetings. It’s that simple.
